So it's been awhile - our schedule was packed and internet connection was a challenge in Calcutta. I'll do some catch-up posts when I have a chance. We arrived in Chennai yesterday morning and are getting ready to leave on an overnight train to Bangalore tonight. Chennai has been a refreshing and relaxing time. Thank you so much to the Mathews and Jubi for introducing us to your wonderful family. It is such a beautiful city - much less polluted - you can actually see the blue sky and clouds! We have been hanging out with the Mathews and they are awesome... plus they have an awesome place - we've been very domestic - playing with the 5 kids - helping bake cookies - eating lots of yumminess.
We had a girls date today at a local salon - got pedicures and a real Indian threading experience. I love my Heena in PA, but it was cool to do it in India. Anyhow, really enjoyed our time in Chennai. We are CLEAN - a real shower (no bucket!); mosquito-less at least for the past 36 hours; and refreshed and ready to continue our journey. Gotta go pack - will catch up on what's happened the past few days when I have a chance.
